The same sample of ten people were asked which album digipak design they prefer. The results conclude that the idea with the fluorescent background is preferred the most.
With the consideration of the sample's opinion, the final idea for our album digipak is the idea of a medium close-up shot of the 'artist' with coloured powder on their face and a coloured fluorescent background. Although DJ's/artists from the dance genre don't generally include an image of themselves on their album covers, it appears that our chosen artist does. Therefore, we have decided to display an image of the 'artist' which will be the protagonist of our music video to follow the work of the artist and reinforce artist recognition. Furthermore, the use of coloured florescent lighting reflects a clubbing setting where dance music is generally played which further helps to attract the target audience. We believe the use of coloured powder on the artist's face is effective as it makes the image different and signifies the effect of listening to music.
Below is a sketch of the album digipak idea which we have opted for. This includes where the main conventions of the digipak will be displayed: album title, artist name/logo, record label logo, copyright information and barcode. This gives us an overall visual idea of what the media product will look like.
