Pitch: Audience Feedback

After pitching the planning ideas to our peers, feedback was given and questions were answered. This is beneficial as issues are identified from an audience perspective which we may have not recognised otherwise. Furthermore, this allows us to improve our final production.

"You should avoid making your music video look like it's associated with school"
My peers brought up the issue that the music video may appear too school orientated which can lower the quality of production. To avoid this, we have selected three out of four of the filming locations to be out of the school premises. Furthermore, we decided to change a set of costumes to avoid involving the school's Dance Company. Initially, the dancers were going to wear their Dance Company clothing which consisted of a black t-shirt and red jogging bottoms. However, we decided for them to wear their own clothes of a t-shirt and either jogging bottoms or leggings. This steers away from the appearance of the music video being based in a school.

"The concept of the music video needs to be clear"
After explaining the concept of the music video to my peers, they were curious of how it was going to be presented clearly. In response to this, the concept will be shown clearly through using shots such as close up shots to focus on the protagonist and their emotions. It was suggested to use test shots before the production of the music video in order to obtain our desired message across through the protagonist's emotions.

"How is a star image created?"
With the music video involving a group of dancers, my peers were concerned how a star image would be created. The majority of the music video will be made up of shots of the protagonist exclusively: walking down the high street, lip synching with projected images and dancing at home. Furthermore, the star image will be further highlighted through close up shots of the protagonist during the dance routine to ensure the focus is on her.

"How is the theme of coloured fluorescent lighting going to be shown in your music video?"
The music video includes various shots with a reoccurring theme of coloured fluorescent lighting: fluorescent coloured lighting is emitted from lamp posts on the high street, fluorescent coloured image is projected onto the protagonist during lip synching shots, fluorescent coloured lighting is used in the shots based at home and on stage. In addition, this particular lighting will be enhanced during post-production. It was also suggested for us to familiarise ourselves with the stage lighting in order to get the desired lighting.
